Overheating issues

Why is my laptop overheating in sleep or hibernate mode after applying the ReviOS Playbook?

This overheating issue is often caused by Hibernate being disabled, which is the default setting in ReviOS. While this default choice can free up a significant amount of disk space and resolve potential instability issues with dual-booting or system upgrades, it can interfere with the "modern standby" or low-power sleep states on newer laptops, leading to overheating.

Enabling both Hibernate and Fast Startup is necessary to restore proper sleep functionality and prevent the system from overheating in these low-power states.

You can resolve this issue by re-enabling Hibernate and Fast Startup using the Revision Tool.

  1. Open Revision Tool
  2. Navigate to the Miscellaneous section
  3. Set the toggle for Hibernate to On
  4. After enabling Hibernate, the option for Fast Startup will appear. Set this toggle to On as well
  5. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect
